Standing proudly in the center of the Iqbal Park in Lahore is the Minar-e-Pakistan. The Minar was built as a tribute to the Lahore Resolution passed in 1940. It is one of the most important national monuments of Pakistan. The monument rises to a height of about 60m with the floors and walls rendered constructed with stone and marble. The tower was designed by Nasreddin Murat-Khan and the foundation stone of the monument was laid in 1960.
